This is a contemporary take on the age old vampire genre. The protagonist Ms Sookie Stackhouse is a bar maid in Bon Temps a small village near New Orleans. She is a physcic and the these books mainly deals with her interactions with creatures of the night such as vampires, werewolves, shape shifters. Charlaine Harris the author of these books has done a good job in giving a light sided romantic feel to the entire series of books. These books have been adapted into a TV Series which is playing on HBO. The series is known as " True Blood". The latest book in the series "Dead and Gone"has been published on May 5, 2009. This is the ninth book in the series. This Book mainly deals with Fairies and a bloody war happening in the Fairlyland for the act of succession. Sookie is caught in the middle of the war because of her relation to the King of the Fairyland who happens to be the grandfather of Sookie.
